Account Owner
Overview
The Account Owner is the user who created the organization in Geo-CX. This is a special account — not a role you can assign or create — and there is only one Account Owner per organization.
When a company is registered on Geo-CX, the person who completes the setup automatically becomes the Account Owner.
What Makes the Account Owner Different
Unlike every other user in the platform, the Account Owner is not bound by a base role. They have access to every permission available in Geo-CX — including ones that no other role, no matter how it is configured, can grant.
This means:
- The Account Owner can do everything a Construction Manager can do, plus manage billing and subscription settings.
- The Account Owner cannot be tracked on the employee map — their location is never visible to other users, including other admins.
- The Account Owner's role cannot be edited, duplicated, or deleted by anyone inside the platform.

Module Access
Exclusive Capabilities
These are the things only the Account Owner can do, regardless of what permissions other users have:
Billing & Subscription
Full access to subscription settings, plan management, and billing information for the organization. No other user can view or manage this — it is exclusive to the Account Owner.
Full Platform Access
Every module, every action, every permission — with no ceiling. While other admin users are subject to the limits of their base role, the Account Owner has no such restriction.
Everything Else
For all day-to-day operations — projects, crews, timesheets, safety, reports, and everything in between — the Account Owner has the same capabilities as a fully-configured Construction Manager. Refer to the Base Role: Construction Manager article for a full breakdown of those modules.
Note: Because the Account Owner is the only user with billing access, it is important that this account belongs to the right person in your organization — typically the business owner or the person responsible for the Geo-CX subscription.
