How to Add a Resource


Overview

Adding a resource creates a new team member profile in Geo-CX. Once added, the person can be assigned to projects and crews, and they can receive an invitation to set up their account on the mobile app.

This action requires permission. If the New Resource button is not visible, contact your administrator.

How to Add a Resource

Click New Resource

From the Resource Management screen, click the New Resource button in the top-right area of the resource list. The creation form opens as a modal.

Fill in the resource details

Complete all required fields in the form — see the field reference below.

Choose whether to send an invitation

At the bottom of the form, the Send invitation on save checkbox is enabled by default.

  • Leave it checked to send the person an email with a link to set up their Geo-CX account immediately after saving.
  • Uncheck it if you want to add them now and send the invitation later. You can send it at any time from the Send Invitation button on their resource card.

Click Save

The resource is created and appears in the list. If the invitation checkbox was checked, the person receives a setup email immediately.

Rate fields are only visible to users with permission. If you do not see the Hourly Rate field, your account does not have rate editing access.


After Adding a Resource

Once saved, the new resource appears in the list with an Active status. From here you can:

  • Assign them to a project — from their resource detail page. See → Resource Detail: Projects, Crews, and Shifts.
  • Add them to a crew — also from the resource detail page.
  • Send an invitation — if you did not send one on save, click Send Invitation on their card at any time.

Things to Know

Email and phone number may be locked after creation. Depending on your organization's settings, these fields may become read-only once the resource has been created. If a correction is needed, contact your administrator.

The Resource Type determines the person's base role in the app. It controls which modules they can access and what actions they can take on the mobile app. Choose carefully — this can be changed later by editing the resource.

Overtime rate updates automatically when you change the hourly rate. You cannot set the overtime rate manually — it is always 1.5× the regular rate.
