Field Worker Daily Guide
Overview
This guide covers everything you do in Geo-CX on a typical workday — from the moment you arrive on site to the moment you leave. Bookmark it and come back whenever you need a quick reminder.
1. Start of Day — Punch In
Before you can start tracking your hours, make sure you have a project selected on the Dashboard. Then open your shift and punch in.
Quick steps:
- Open the app and check the Current Shift card on the Dashboard.
- Tap Open Shift → tap Punch In.
- Pass the location check, fill in your activity notes, and confirm.
Your timer starts the moment you punch in. All time is recorded in the project's timezone — not your device's local time.
If a safety form appears right after you punch in, that means an audit is required for today. Complete and submit it before continuing with your day. See → How to Fill Out and Submit a Safety or Project Form.

2. Fill and Submit Forms
Safety forms and project forms are submitted directly from the app. You may be asked to fill one out at the start of the day, or you can submit one at any time from the sidebar.
- Safety Forms → Sidebar → Safety Forms
- Project Forms → Sidebar → Project Forms
Forms are divided into sections. Work through each one, complete all required fields, and tap Submit on the last section. Photos, file attachments, and signatures are all supported.
Forms work offline. If you lose signal, your answers are saved and submitted automatically when you reconnect.

3. End of Day — Punch Out
When your shift ends, punch out from the Shift screen.
Quick steps:
- Open the Shift screen and tap Punch Out.
- Answer the injury question — tap No to complete, or Yes to attach an injury report.
- Done — your hours are saved and synced.
Don't forget to punch out. If you leave without punching out, the app will send you a reminder notification. If there is no response, the system will punch you out automatically. See → Automatic Punch-Out: When and Why It Happens.
Need to take a break during the day? Tap Lunch on the Shift screen — your timer pauses and resumes when you tap Resume Work. See → How to Take a Lunch Break and Resume Work. Full guide: How to Punch In and Punch Out
4. Requesting Time Off
If you need time off, submit your request from the app before the date arrives. Requests must be submitted at least one day in advance — same-day requests are not accepted.
Quick steps:
- Sidebar → Time Off → tap Add New Time Off Request.
- Pick your start and end dates, select a reason, and add a comment.
- Tap Submit — your manager receives a notification to review it.
Check the Pending tab to track your request. You will receive a notification when it is approved or denied.
You can update a pending request within 48 hours of submitting it. After that window closes, you will need to submit a new request if anything changes.

5. Reporting an Injury
If you are injured at any point during your shift, you can report it in two ways:
- At punch out — when the app asks "Did you experience any injuries?", tap Yes to open the injury form. The report is linked to your shift automatically.
- At any time — Sidebar → Report Injury, or Dashboard → Quick Actions → Report Injury.
Injury reporting is available to all users — no special permissions required.
