Overview

A Construction Technician is a skilled professional who supports the technical execution of construction projects on the ground. They focus on carrying out daily tasks efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards — and Geo-CX gives them a focused set of tools to do exactly that, all from their mobile device.

Technicians work exclusively through the Geo-CX mobile app. Web access is not included in this role.

  • Log and track their own working hours via timesheet
  • Submit documentation forms for daily activities
  • View safety records from the team
  • Request time off
  • Communicate with the crew and organization via chat

What This Base Role Can Access

Timesheets

Technicians have access to their own timesheet only — they can view their hours, track their time, and manage their own timesheet activity. They do not have access to other team members' timesheets.

Documentation

Technicians can create and submit documentation forms — such as daily task logs and field reports. They cannot view other users' submissions or manage any form templates.

Time Off

Access to the Time Off module to submit and track their own time off requests.

Chats

Full access to the Chats module — Technicians can start conversations, send messages, and participate in group chats to stay connected with the crew and communicate any field issues.

Resource Management

Technicians can access the Resource Management module to view employee information within their scope.

If a specific Technician needs slightly broader access (for example, submitting safety forms), that can be configured through a custom role built on this base.
